60 families. Five piglets each.
One shared goal: stronger family livelihoods.
Our target is 300 piglets for 60 families, with start-up feed, care and training. Based on our existing planning estimates, €40 helps fund one piglet and €200 helps fund five piglets for one family. Feed and care are additional costs.
The Piglet Project
The Piglet Project aims to help 60 families in Binzi, Uganda work towards more secure livelihoods through livestock, practical training and daily care.
The plan brings together piglets, start-up feed and support for participating families. Read how it is intended to work, what the families contribute and what we're still working to deliver.
Other Ways Your Support Helps the Community
Support a child at school
You can also help children return to school. Support underprivileged children from poor families to return to class by donating basic scholastic materials. Donations needed are pens, pencils, exercise books, sanitary pads (girls suffer in this regard), mathematical sets, rubbers, calculators, rulers, sharpeners, reading books and backpacks.
| School level | Per term UGX | Per year UGX | Annual estimate EUR |
|---|---|---|---|
| Primary school | 200,000 | 600,000 | €150 |
| Secondary school | 500,000 | 1,500,000 | €375 |
Existing planning estimates. Annual costs cover three terms; current prices and what the support covers still need confirmation.
Community Gardens and Plantations
Your generous support helps establish and maintain local agriculture, specifically focusing on the cultivation of bananas and coffee. These vital crops not only provide daily nourishment to keep families healthy, but the surplus produce can also be sold to generate a crucial, sustainable income.
