Your choice comes first
Google Analytics is optional and stays off until you choose “Analytics only” or “Allow analytics and advertising”. Declining does not restrict any website feature. Use “Privacy settings” in the footer of any page to change your choice or withdraw consent. Without JavaScript, including in Lynx, Analytics does not run.
We remember your choice, its date and this notice version and whether you permitted advertising in your browser’s local storage for 180 days. This preference is used only to respect your choice. If storage is blocked, we cannot remember it across pages. Withdrawal stops future collection and removes Analytics cookies accessible to this site; it does not automatically erase data already processed.
Optional Google Analytics
If you consent, Google Analytics 4 (provided by Google) measures visits and interactions to help us improve the website. It may process cookie identifiers, pages viewed, interaction events, browser and device details, language and city-level location inferred from your internet connection, screen resolution, device brand and model, operating system and browser versions. This is pseudonymous data, not necessarily anonymous data. Google receives your IP address to handle requests; Google states that GA4 does not log or store individual IP addresses.
Analytics cookies such as _ga and _ga_DBE2Y1QGNN distinguish browsers and sessions. We configure a maximum lifetime of 180 days without renewal on each visit. Your consent is the basis for this optional collection. We remove query strings and fragments from the page address supplied to Analytics and omit the referring page address.
Advertising features and personal information
Advertising is a separate optional choice. “Analytics only” denies advertising storage, advertising user-data use and personalization, and disables Google signals. “Allow analytics and advertising” also permits Google signals, advertising cookies, advertising measurement and personalization. We may use consented audience and event information through linked Google advertising services to measure and promote the foundation’s work.
With advertising permission, Google signals may associate visits with Google’s information about signed-in users who have also allowed that association in their Google settings. This can include location, search history, YouTube history and activity on sites that partner with Google. It supports cross-device audience measurement, demographics and interests reporting, and personalized advertising. Google and its advertising services may combine their cookies or identifiers with Analytics identifiers for these purposes. We do not use sensitive information, such as personal religious beliefs, to build advertising audiences.
The Analytics property has user-provided data capabilities enabled. However, this website has no visitor account or personal-information form, does not assign User-IDs, and does not send customer email addresses, telephone numbers or postal addresses for matching. Public foundation contact details are not visitor data. Enhanced conversion submission is disabled in our site code. If we introduce a visitor-data collection feature, we will explain any proposed matching of hashed details with Google accounts and obtain the required permission before using it.
Read how Google uses information from sites that use its services and Google’s privacy policy. Google provides advertising controls, My Activity controls and an Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Hosting, contact and donations
Our hosting provider, Fly.io, processes connection information needed to deliver and secure the site, including IP addresses. Technical records may be used to diagnose faults and prevent abuse, based on our legitimate interest in operating a reliable website. The site also loads gallery software from jsDelivr, whose servers receive connection information when those files are requested.
There are no website accounts or registration forms. If you email us, we receive the message and contact details you choose to provide and use them to respond. Please avoid sending sensitive personal information unless it is necessary for your request.
Payments take place through banks, PayPal or a public blockchain, under their own privacy terms. This website does not collect payment credentials. Recipients may receive donor and transaction information needed to administer contributions. Ethereum transactions, including wallet addresses and amounts, are publicly visible and cannot be removed from the blockchain by us. Social-media links take you to external services; we do not embed their tracking beacons.
Retention, international processing and your rights
Browser preference and Analytics cookie lifetimes are described above. Analytics records are subject to the retention settings of our Google Analytics property, which are separate from cookie expiry. Contact and donation records are kept as needed to handle requests, administer donations and meet applicable recordkeeping duties. Contact us for details about records relating to you.
Providers may process information outside your country, including in the United States. Their applicable data-processing terms describe international-transfer safeguards. Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion or restriction of your personal data, object to processing, request portability, and complain to your data-protection authority. You can withdraw analytics consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing.
We will update this page when our practices change. Browsing the site is not consent to optional tracking. A material change to the purposes of tracking requires a new choice.
